Nathan’s life has always been on the move. Born in Virginia Beach, he moved to Costa Rica at the age of 23 to pursue a life of adventure on the water. He spent some time there enjoying nature but tragically this was cut short, after watching the horrific events of 9/11. After that day, something inside him triggered his patriotic DNA. So he chose to enlist immediately in the Navy, serving as a Salvage Diver and Photographer’s Mate for nine years.

It was early on during this time, Nathan discovered his passions for photography & cinematography while at DINFOS (Defense Information School), Fort Meade, Maryland. These passions continued to flourish during two tours in the dive community at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii which gave him access to the world of pro surf photography. He loved being immersed in this sport, where his top achievements included creating images for the most popular surf brands & magazines of the time, gaining some of his first credibility as a professional shooter. Once his 2nd enlistment came to an end, he decided to say goodbye to the military so he could further hone his shooting eye and storytelling ability.

This brought him to the University of Hawaii (UH) at Manoa where Nathan graduated in the top 10% of his class with a bachelor’s degree at the School of Communications with the focus on Digital Cinema. Also during his time at UH, he created a viral Youtube channel and helped win, “Best First-Time Director” at the 2013 Honolulu Film Awards for the film, Contain The Cry, where he served as the director of photography (DP).

Since then, Nathan has continued to cultivate his passion and skills while working for Fisheye Studios as one of their key cinematographers. Currently you can catch him operating as the Creative Director for Fisheye Studio’s Hawaii offices.
